PPC Allotment Sub-Committee (AC)
The Committee was formerly set-up in October 2022 after interest was shown by residents for the creation of village allotments.
After the failure of a PPC supported request for plots on Charity-owned land in the village, attention was drawn to a smaller area of allotment land that had been promised to the village in a Section 106 agreement linked to a planning approval to build 6 homes on old allotment land, now fenced off at the top of Mabels Walk.
For 3 years PPC have been working towards securing that land for village allotment facilities in association with the landowner and East Suffolk Council. AC was established to head this work, reporting back to PPC. Once the allotments are ready to be used, the tenant waiting list, plot layout that PPC holds, will pass to the Parish Clerk for plot rental and administrative purposes, along with a plot tenancy agreement that ploy holders will be asked to sign. Until that time, please email barryppc@aol.com for any specific allotment or plot waiting list enquiries.
AC meet either at a Public Meeting or in a working group as new information evolves from the two parties to the Section 106 legal agreement. The notes or minutes of these meetings are reported at the following full Parish Council meeting and may be posted here.
The Allotment Sub-Committee has its own ‘Terms of Reference’ and the current Committee members are:-
- Cllr Zoe Horlock
- Mr Bill Miller
- Cllr Barry Rowing (AC Chairman)
